It's not just a time or money issue, the process of making games is broken.Man, found Jeff Gerstmann's playlist of awful songs on Spotify. Saying stuff like "Oh Bethesda games are always busted" is bullshit because they should fire the shitty project managers that make the game ship in that state, and while they're at it, fire the artists who are making Bethesda game characters look like clay dolls that cooked too long, and hire more animators so actions in the game aren't all janky looking. But it is a critical piece of information for consumers to make an intelligent decision, they are hiding the lead platform so sometimes shit like this happens! No developer is ever going to announce what their lead platform is, as it will damage sales on all other consoles. I started doing this when I was still in high school. For most of that run, Ive been doing that work for a variety of publications that you may have heard of. Complaining that human lives were likely adversely affected by the production of that franchise. Jeff Gerstmann (thats me) has been covering video games and the game industry for something like 30 years now.
